About trombone search

When I was younger, high school and college, companies still printed brochures. I’d write or call different instrument manufacturers requesting catalogs of their horns. I collected brochures like some people might collect comic books and read with the same intensity.

I would cut out pictures and make collages before I knew what a mood board was.

Later, through work, I had the opportunity to go to music shows like NAMM and MusikMesse. I’d take breaks from my company’s booth to browse the aisles of the brass section and it was glorious. You will probably never see more trombones in one place at one time than at a show like Winter NAMM or Frankfurt MusikMesse. It was great.

Trombone search is the kind of site I wish existed back in the day. And maybe, just maybe, there’s some other person out there who’s just as excited about horns as I was then. And maybe, just maybe, this site will help that person find a horn or builder they didn’t know existed.

This site contains as many instruments (hundreds) and as many brands (dozens) as I could reasonably find. I’m sure I’ve missed some. And if I have, please feel free to point me in the right direction. This site is a work in progress and I’m grateful for any help (updates, additions, corrections) you can provide.
